Couvre-lit ou canapé en patchwork appliqué

La technique de l’appliqué consiste à assembler des pièces de tissus l’une sur l’autre.
Pour confectionner ce magnifique couvre-lit, deux tentures sont utilisées: la première, une toile d’un beau coton épais et de belle qualité de couleur blanche; la seconde, une belle tenture imprimée à la main en block print et découpée comme un pochoir. La seconde est cousue sur la première pour le plus bel effet.

The appliqué technique consists of assembling pieces of fabric on top of each other.
To make this magnificent bedspread, two hangings are used: the first, a canvas of a beautiful thick and good quality white cotton; the second, a beautiful wall hanging  hand block printed and cut out like a stencil. The second is sewn on the first for the most beautiful effect.
